Being a self-proclaimed ‘Sweat Avoider’, I was never that into fitness. During my mid 20s, my weight had skyrocketed from bad eating habits and a bad relationship. Something had to give. I had been a practioner of yoga but that wasn’t enough. So, I started at a local gym that offered toning classes three times a week…from that it grew to weight training and body building, all the while continuing with my yoga. After several natural body building competitions, I needed something new….the practice and teaching of Ashtanga Yoga. From that I discovered that I thrived best from challenges….try it, move on. So, my routine became the latest TV invention (P90X / Jillian Michaels Body Revolution / 21-Day Fix…you get the idea)
After a year of research, hesitation and doubt, I started CrossFit. WOW! Mike & Monica were
great….the people in the classes were welcoming and supportive….I finally found something that allowed me to satisfy my need for a challenge but that need would never get satisfied…there is ALWAYS A NEW CHALLENGE when it comes to CrossFit. I have enjoyed the benefits, challenges and humbling experiences CrossFit has presented. I enjoy participating in and coaching the classes at FTGF.
