My fitness journey truly began when I was 22. I grew up actively participating in sports and playing outdoors with friends. However, I always struggled with my weight which impacted the confidence I had for myself. After a routine doctor exam, I was told I had high blood pressure and would need medication which would likely be taken the remainder of my life. That day I realized that it wasn’t genetics but a poor diet and lack of consistent physical activity. I began with a Bowflex before transitioning into running and some weight training. I then progressed into multiple programs of P90X, Insanity, and other similar videos that were completed at home. As I learned much on my own journey, I decided I wanted to help others that also struggled. I studied to become a personal trainer and was certified through the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM).
After studying and testing the CrossFit methodology in 2014, I joined a local affiliate in Kansas and immediately drank the Kool-Aid. I took the knowledge that I gained over the prior years, studied under great coaches, and attended the CrossFit Level 1 Certification Seminar which led me to become a Level 1 Trainer. My personal motto is Faith, Family, & Fitness. Without God nothing I do would be possible. I intend to use my fitness to glorify His word and help others become better versions of themselves. Outside of CrossFit I am a Property Claims Leader for Allstate Insurance Company. There I get to develop others to become better every day and assist in the restoration of lives affected by catastrophes. In addition to fitness certifications I have an MBA in Leadership Studies and a Bachelor Degree of Business with Associate in Marketing. I believe my purpose is to help others be the best they can be and will strive every day to accomplish this until my time on earth runs out.
