Our lives as Christians should make non-believers question their disbelief in God.

 

Courage:
Bravery in the face of fear. Courage means challenging yourself. Just walking in the door takes courage. We all encounter anxieties or worries of different types, especially when it comes to fitness and health. Do not be fearful, or afraid to show your weaknesses, because the only weakness is letting yourself believe that you are incapable of change, incapable of committing yourself, incapable of changing your body type and eating habits, or unwilling to change your life.  Everyone is capable of CrossFitting! Embrace your weaknesses because they’ll eventually become strengths.  All of our workouts are scalable.  We are here to support you on your journey and new lifestyle, so be COURAGEOUS and destroy any fear!

Faith:
Faith is the opposite of fear. Believe in yourself. Faith is believing what you can’t see.  Have the faith that you are capable of achieving any goal you desire, and that you are WORTHY of them! Do not walk by sight, but by faith.

Honesty:
Have honesty with Mike and Monica, your coaches, our CrossFit family, and yourself. Let us know how you’re feeling. CrossFitters- posting your scores, being honest with what you post. Communicate your limitations for safety reasons.  Be truthful and sincere. Build trust. Do not cheat yourself.

Humility:
Don’t be prideful, leave your ego at the door!  Know your limitations, and know the difference between legitimately pushing yourself or potentially putting yourself in harms way. You don’t have to do the workouts as prescribed (RX). Sometimes, scaling the workouts defines humility.

Do not be boastful. Be thankful.

Love:
Love others just as yourself. Love your husband or wife. Be encouragers. Cheer fellow CrossFitters on! Make a difference in the lives of others. Be inviting and hospitable to new members.

We are a community that cares about each other! Extend yourself beyond the inside of FTGF and reach out to members: get to know one another, and unconditionally support each other in and out of the box.

Joyfulness:
The inner sense of peace and happiness. Appreciate the gifts each day brings. Try to refrain from complaints, and instead, attempt to be the light in every possible way.

Obedience:
Do what the coach tells you: Scaling the WODs, stopping a workout when necessary, dropping a weight, etc..
Push yourself in a positive way. Do not be destructive with your body or your mind.

Patience:
Be patient with others and yourself. Your challenges will come and go, but don’t be discouraged because of temporary difficulty. RESULTS take time, don’t expect to improve overnight. Every day doesn’t have to be a PR day to show improvement. Be patient with newcomers who may not be as experienced and may need additional guidance from the coach.

Perseverance:
Some things will hurt (non-injurious), but push through. Stick to the task, and do not be short sighted. Be consistent. Strive for things you never thought you’d be capable of.  Deal with adversity in a positive way.

Forgiveness:
There is freedom in forgiveness.  Forgive yourself, and forgive others.  If there are any problems in the gym, address them to Mike and Monica and we will make it a priority to resolve any issues. Forgive yourself of anything negative you have done to your body in the past, today is a new day, and a fresh start.

Gentleness:
Do not be gentle with the weights, they’re meant to be dropped!!!!
Take care of your body: stretching, mobility, warm-up, post-wod, etc.
Be helpful to others.

Honor:
Keep your word. Do the right thing, regardless of what others are doing. Honor is a path of integrity.  When you use our equipment, you’re responsible for putting the equipment away. Honor our equipment and our space. When you get something extremely sweaty, wipe it down before putting it away.
